Springfield (IL) Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport serves flights from Chicago and from other parts of Illinois. The airport was established in 1970. This airport serves all domestic and international airports in Illinois and has been designated as the third busiest airport in the state. Springfield is the home to numerous international airlines and other carriers that make their operations here.

It is an airport in Sangamon County just north of downtown Springfield and is owned by the City of Albertabur, which is governed by a state-appointed board. This airport was built as an auxiliary airport for the Air Force base at Camp Wood, and was used for the military during World War II.

Today, it is an airfield that serves both passenger and military aircraft. It serves flights from the Chicago area as well as flights from other locations in the country.
